Campground Overview
About Kershaw-Ryan State Park
A vivid desert oasis framed by striking canyon walls soaring up to 700 feet, Kershaw-Ryan State Park Campground offers a rare retreat where vibrant greenery flourishes in dramatic contrast to the arid surroundings. This 16-site campground, located just three miles south of Caliente, Nevada, combines natural beauty, relaxation, and recreation with features like spring-fed gardens, a seasonal children’s wading pool, and well-maintained facilities.
Each campsite is outfitted for comfort with shade ramadas, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and access to hot showers, restrooms, and an RV dump station. Four tent-only sites are first-come, first-served, while the remaining include 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups alongside water connections. Beyond the campground, the park's 14 miles of hiking and biking trails lead guests to panoramic views of Rainbow Canyon and its colorful geology. Wildlife sightings, from wild horses to deer, add to the unique appeal of this tranquil escape.
Situated in a lush canyon irrigated by natural springs, Kershaw-Ryan is a convenient base for day trips or weekend getaways. Its proximity to Caliente ensures easy access to supplies and dining, while nearby scenic attractions like Cathedral Gorge State Park, about 12 miles away, offer additional exploration opportunities.
