Its wooded sites provide shade and privacy, while the nearby amenities and recreational opportunities cater to all camping styles and skill levels.
The campground features 46 campsites, with 23 offering water and electric hookups, as well as six camping cabins and 10 more traditional cabins. Each campsite includes essentials like a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post, while clean restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station ensure added comfort. Just steps away, visitors can enjoy the guarded swimming beach (open Memorial Day through Labor Day), scenic trails, and a boat launch for easy lake access. Trails range from easy lakeshore strolls to moderate paths through historic gold-mining terrain, making exploration accessible for all ages. Quiet hours and a ban on generator use ensure a peaceful environment.
Located in Spotsylvania County, approximately 25 miles southwest of Fredericksburg, the park is an ideal base for water sports, fishing, and wildlife observation.
