About Lighthouse County Park
Perched on the tranquil shores of Lake Huron, Lighthouse County Park offers a unique blend of historic charm, natural beauty, and diverse camping opportunities. With its striking Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse as a centerpiece, the campground provides a perfect backdrop for history enthusiasts and nature seekers alike, while its grassy campsites and rustic cabins cater to tent campers and RV travelers.
The park is equipped with 110 campsites, including full hookup options, as well as six rustic cabins for a cozier stay. Amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, clean bathhouses with hot showers, and a playground ensure a comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere. While the rocky shoreline isn't ideal for swimming, the breathtaking lake views, historic lighthouse tours, fishing opportunities, and serene trails make this a destination for relaxation and exploration.
Located just six miles north of Port Hope, Michigan, and about 30 minutes from Port Austin’s attractions, the park is ideally situated for day trips and local adventures. It serves as a peaceful retreat where campers can enjoy vibrant sunsets, the gentle sound of waves, and the rich history of Michigan’s Thumb region.
