About Stafford County Park
What sets Stafford County Park apart is its idyllic position on the shores of Lake Huron, offering campers a serene waterfront retreat with a blend of history, recreation, and natural beauty. This 38-acre park features a historic 1858 sawmill chimney, pristine waters for fishing and kayaking, and ample outdoor spaces perfect for families and nature seekers.
The campground offers 73 RV and tent sites, six cozy camper cabins, and modern amenities like showers, electricity, flush toilets, and running water. With a sandy beach, a boat launch, picnic areas, and a playground, the park is well-suited for both tranquil getaways and activity-filled family trips. Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and exploring the scenic lakeside, though the shoreline may have some mucky areas near the beach. Nature trails and spacious picnic grounds complete the outdoor experience.
Located just outside Port Hope, a quaint Michigan town, Stafford County Park combines easy access to local charm with proximity to Lake Huron. It’s an ideal spot for weekend retreats or extended stays, offering a mix of natural splendor, historical significance, and opportunities for recreation within a short drive.
