This small, 10-site campground provides a serene base for exploring the Stanislaus National Forest, with each site nestled among mixed conifers offering ample shade and privacy.
The campground's simple amenities include picnic tables, bear-resistant food lockers, and fire rings with grills at each site. Potable water from a hand pump and vault toilets serve basic needs, maintaining the authentic outdoors experience. While primarily suited for tent camping, a few sites can accommodate small trailers, catering to diverse camping preferences.
Located just 12 miles east of Groveland on Highway 120, Lost Claim serves as an ideal gateway to Yosemite's wonders, situated only 15 miles from the park's northwestern boundary. The surrounding area offers abundant recreational opportunities, including hiking the nearby Little Golden Forest Trail, fishing in the Tuolumne River, and exploring the rugged beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
