About Lovewell State Park
Set beside the expansive Lovewell Reservoir in north-central Kansas, Lovewell State Park merges scenic reservoir views with a versatile array of camping accommodations and recreational opportunities. With 28 full utility sites, 126 water/electric or electric-only sites, and over 240 primitive campsites, the park offers options to suit virtually every camper. Additionally, it features nine rentable cabins, with rustic and deluxe styles that include amenities like air conditioning, heating, and kitchenettes—a rare touch of comfort amid natural surroundings.
The park provides ample opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, from fishing for walleye and crappie in the 2,900-acre reservoir to enjoying a swim at the Southwinds beach, which combines sunny spots with shadier retreats. Land-based activities abound too, with a seven-station archery range, trails for nature exploration, and recreation areas equipped with playgrounds, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. Wildlife enthusiasts can explore the nearby Lovewell Wildlife Area, which spans 2,200 acres of well-managed habitats, perfect for birdwatching and spotting native species like white-tailed deer and pheasants.
Conveniently located near the quiet town of Webber and just 18 miles northeast of Mankato, this campground caters to both shorter getaways and extended stays. Its blend of natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and proximity to the reservoir ensures a memorable Kansas camping experience.
