About Minooka Park

How does Minooka Park surpass traditional camping expectations? Located on the south side of Wilson Lake in Kansas' Smoky Hills, this campground offers some of the clearest waters in the state, unmatched shoreline access, and expansive lake views. With its rich natural backdrop of limestone formations and mixed grass prairies, it creates a serene retreat while still boasting well-developed facilities.

Minooka Park features 159 campsites, including options for tent camping, RVs, and group camping. Many sites are equipped with water and electrical hookups, and all include picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Families will appreciate amenities like a designated swim beach, playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, and multiple hiking trails. For avid anglers and boaters, Wilson Lake provides three boat ramps and is known for its striped bass and walleye fishing. Additional conveniences, such as clean restrooms with showers, a fish cleaning station, and a sanitary dump station, enhance the camping experience.

Situated near Sylvan Grove and within a short drive of Lucas—a town famed for its artistic charm—Minooka Park combines outdoor recreation with cultural exploration. Whether boating, fishing, bird watching, or hiking, this lakeside gem is ideal for weekend getaways, family vacations, or extended outdoor adventures.
