About Oak Ridge Campground

Beneath the towering trees of Prince William Forest Park, Oak Ridge Campground offers a tranquil escape just 35 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. This 100-site wooded retreat blends basic amenities with immersion in nature, featuring tent and RV-friendly sites, a peaceful atmosphere, and easy access to more than 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of bike-friendly roads.

The campground is thoughtfully divided into three loops, with A and B accommodating both RVs and tents, while C is reserved exclusively for tent campers. A hallmark of this location is its simplicity—sites are level and spacious, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post, though there are no electric or water hookups. Flush toilets are available in all loops, while Loop B also includes showers and potable water for added convenience. Visitors can expect a quiet environment nestled in one of the largest Piedmont forest ecosystems in the National Park Service.

Located near Triangle, Virginia, Oak Ridge is an ideal base for exploring Prince William Forest Park’s scenic trails, orienteering courses, and fishing spots. Despite its rustic feel, the campground is easily reached via major routes, with the park's main entrance just off I-95. Whether planning a weekend getaway or a longer retreat, Oak Ridge Campground delivers classic camping with access to rich natural and cultural history.
