This secluded campground features 33 single-family and 2 double-family sites, each equipped with fire rings, grills, picnic tables, bear-proof food lockers, and tent pads. Visitors will find drinking water, vault toilets, and trash collection on site, although there are no hookups for RVs or showers. The nearby reservoir, resembling a river bound by steep, forested canyon walls, offers unique recreational opportunities, while the surrounding trails provide access to the stunning landscapes of the Coconino National Forest.
Situated 62 miles southeast of Flagstaff and accessible via forest service roads, Rock Crossing Campground is an excellent base for a weekend getaway or an extended nature retreat. Within a short drive, enjoy water recreation at the reservoir or embark on scenic hikes, including Rock Crossing Trail and sections of the Arizona Trail.
