Rujada Campground

Rujada Campground defies expectations of a typical forest retreat by offering an intimate connection to nature alongside family-friendly amenities like a playground and picnic areas. Located 21 miles east of Cottage Grove on a terrace above Layng Creek, this serene destination is shaded by Douglas firs and lush hardwoods, providing both privacy and scenic beauty. The campground serves as an excellent base for outdoor recreation with easy access to trails leading to stunning waterfalls, such as Moon Falls, Spirit Falls, and Pinard Falls—each less than a 15-minute drive away.

The campground features 15 spacious sites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads, supported by well-maintained facilities including flush toilets, running water, and garbage collection. A short hike on the Swordfern Trail immerses visitors in the verdant riparian ecosystem, while Layng Creek offers opportunities for swimming and relaxing along its banks. At an elevation of approximately 1,200 feet, Rujada provides a cooler, tranquil alternative for weekend getaways, family picnics, or extended stays in Oregon’s Umpqua National Forest.
