How does a tranquil escape to the cool, pine-scented heights of the Santa Catalina Mountains sound? At 7,700 feet in elevation, Showers Point Group Site Campground offers a secluded retreat enriched by breathtaking views, spacious campsites, and immediate access to unspoiled natural wonders. Its standout features include a dramatic overlook of Palisade Canyon, serene surroundings shaded by towering ponderosa pines and Gambel oak, and proximity to the captivating Palisade Trail.

This group-only campground features three well-spread, tent-exclusive sites equipped with picnic shelters, large fire pits, BBQ grills, and even 120-volt outlets for small appliances—a practical touch in a remote setting. Clean restrooms and drinking water are available on-site, ensuring comfort without compromising the rustic appeal. Each site accommodates up to 25 guests, making it perfect for family gatherings or organized retreats. Notably, this peaceful haven prohibits trailers and RVs, preserving the area's natural ambiance.

Located roughly 30 miles from Tucson along the scenic Catalina Highway, Showers Point serves as an idyllic base for exploring Mount Lemmon's diverse attractions. Within a short drive, visitors can fish at the nearby Rose Canyon Lake, hike through Sabino Canyon, or enjoy the vibrant village of Summerhaven for a bite or a local treat. The campground’s elevated perch offers cool respite from the desert heat, making it a popular summer destination for weekend getaways or longer nature immersions.
