Campground Overview
About Wade Lake Campground
Could anything rival the sight of Wade Lake’s crystalline aquamarine waters shimmering beneath a dense canopy of Douglas firs? This serene campground, tucked into the forested ravine of Montana's Gravelly Range, offers an alluring mix of seclusion, natural beauty, and outdoor recreation. Wade Lake Campground is a haven for campers seeking tranquility, pristine waters, and proximity to world-class fishing and hiking.
The campground features 27 sites, including two group areas, with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets spread across two loops. Drinking water is available seasonally, but larger trailers may find challenges navigating the narrow roads and steep terrain. Perfect for tent camping and small RVs, each site encourages an intimate connection with nature. Activities are abundant—guests can swim, paddle, or fish for rainbow and brown trout on the no-wake lake; embark on nearby hiking trails; or enjoy the magnificent wild surroundings. A rustic boat launch allows easy lake access, but note there are no equipment rentals on-site.
Located about 43 miles south of Ennis and 35 miles west of Yellowstone National Park, Wade Lake Campground is close to several notable attractions. The majestic Madison River, a fly-fishing paradise, is just five miles away, while the Earthquake Lake Visitor Center and the expansive Lee Metcalf Wilderness are both within a short drive. For campers craving a peaceful retreat while remaining within reach of iconic Montana adventures, Wade Lake Campground is an exceptional choice.
