Campground Overview
About Waters Point Area Glendo State Park
The Waters Point Area within Glendo State Park in Wyoming offers a rugged camping experience, combining convenience with proximity to Glendo Reservoir’s natural attractions. Located just three miles off Lakeshore Drive and accessible from Highway 319 via the nearby town of Glendo, this moderately-sized campground features flat terrain with sparse vegetation, creating an environment that caters to those seeking a more primitive retreat.
The campground hosts 10 sites, four of which provide partial shade while the others are exposed to open skies, making it ideal for campers who enjoy the simplicity of raw nature. Vault toilets and a single ADA-accessible camping pad are available at the site. A standout feature is its direct access to two beaches—one with red sand and another with white sand—which, while rockier than Glendo’s famed Sandy Beach, still offer charming spots for sunbathing, swimming, or relaxing by the water.
Situated near Glendo Reservoir, Waters Point provides campers with excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and trail-based exploration, with more than 45 miles of multi-use trails within the park. Just a short drive to Glendo’s amenities, this area balances seclusion with accessibility, making it a versatile option for both short stopovers and extended stays.
