Campground Overview
About Button Bay State Park
Set on a captivating bluff overlooking Lake Champlain, Button Bay State Park offers breathtaking views of the Adirondack Mountains and access to the serene waters of one of New England's most iconic lakes. With its unique geological formations, open grassy campsites, and proximity to an ecological treasure at Button Point Natural Area, this park blends natural wonder with comfort and outdoor recreation.
The campground features 53 tent/RV sites, 13 lean-tos, and 4 cozy cabins, all nestled within easy walking distance of the lake. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, a swimming pool with a water slide, and a boat launch, catering to both relaxed campers and adventure seekers alike. The park is pet-friendly, with the exception of some cabins and the pool area, and the surrounding trails and shoreline provide excellent opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring.
Located near the charming town of Vergennes and approximately an hour's drive south of Burlington, this 253-acre park is a haven for family getaways, weekend retreats, and nature-focused vacations. Visitors can enjoy stargazing, access the Lake Champlain Bikeway, or explore the nearby Button Point Nature Center with its rare flora and fossils. Button Bay State Park combines natural beauty, recreational amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere for an unforgettable camping experience.
