About Cobbett Lake Campground

Cradled within a verdant grove of towering spruce trees, Cobbett Lake Campground offers a serene high-elevation retreat where the crisp alpine air mingles with the stillness of Grand Mesa's shimmering lakes. Located at 10,300 feet along the Grand Mesa National Scenic Byway, this campground’s intimate connection with nature is enhanced by its proximity to Cobbett Lake, perfect for non-motorized boating, fishing for trout, and leisurely shoreline strolls.

The campground features 20 single-family sites, each outfitted with essential amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings for cozy campfires. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, ensuring a comfortable stay amidst the wilderness. Most campsites are shaded by dense evergreens, promising privacy and relief from the sun, while the surrounding trails such as the nearby Cobbett Lake and Grand Mesa Discovery Trails beckon to hikers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Situated approximately 15 miles from Cedaredge, Colorado, Cobbett Lake Campground serves as a central hub for exploring the stunning Grand Mesa region, known as the “Land O’ Lakes” for its rich scattering of over 300 alpine lakes. A short drive leads to the Grand Mesa Visitor Center, where you can delve into the area’s ecology and admire a stunning wildflower garden. For a touch of local culture, a trip to Cedaredge’s Pioneer Town provides a journey back to the frontier era, complete with historic artifacts and architecture.
