Campground Overview

About Jumbo Campground

Shaded by towering spruce and aspen trees at an elevation of 9,800 feet, Jumbo Campground offers a tranquil retreat between Jumbo and Sunset Lakes on Colorado's stunning Grand Mesa. With lake views, abundant wildlife, and a cool alpine climate, this campground is ideal for nature lovers seeking a quiet escape, whether for fishing, hiking, or canoeing adventures.

The campground boasts 26 well-maintained sites, 21 with electric hookups, and includes features like picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water. The terrain ensures some privacy between sites, while nearby trails, such as the West Bench Trail, cater to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. Mosquitoes are common, so bringing insect repellent is recommended.

Located along the Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic Byway, the campground is a short drive from the Grand Mesa Visitor Center and the charming town of Cedaredge, which is 26 miles away. Cedaredge offers the unique Pioneer Town and hosts the annual Applefest in October. Anglers will enjoy fishing for trout in the surrounding lakes, while wildlife enthusiasts may spot deer and elk in their natural habitat.
