About Idlewild Campground

Idlewild Campground, just one mile south of Winter Park, Colorado, offers a tranquil yet conveniently located retreat at 9,000 feet elevation, where the Fraser River flows peacefully through the surrounding Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Known for its shaded sites and proximity to outdoor recreation, the campground features 24 non-electric sites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site includes a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and bear-resistant food storage.

With the Fraser River Trail adjoining the campground, visitors have direct access to a scenic bike and hike path that connects to Winter Park and Fraser, as well as nearby opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, and exploring Vasquez Wilderness Area trails.
