Campground Overview
About Indian Creek Campground
Indian Creek Campground offers a high-altitude escape with panoramic mountain views, group-focused camping, and direct access to extensive trail networks. This Forest Service campground, situated at 8,400 feet in Upper Joe's Valley, combines rugged beauty with basic amenities in a setting that caters to outdoor enthusiasts and group gatherings.
The campground features seven spacious group sites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, accommodating between 30 to 70 campers. Vault toilets and potable water are provided, though the lack of electrical hookups and garbage service underscores its rustic character. The surrounding aspen grove, interspersed with sagebrush and pines, creates a picturesque backdrop that transforms into a vibrant display of autumn colors later in the season.
Located approximately 21 miles northwest of Orangeville, Utah, Indian Creek Campground serves as a gateway to the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The area is a haven for outdoor recreation, with numerous trails suitable for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and OHV use crisscrossing the valley and mountainsides. Nearby Potter's Pond offers canoeing and rainbow trout fishing, while the expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System, boasting over 350 miles of maintained trails, attracts off-road enthusiasts of all skill levels.
