Campground Overview
About Potters Pond Campgrounds
A striking high-mountain retreat, Potters Pond Campground offers tranquility, natural beauty, and diverse outdoor recreation in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Positioned at 9,000 feet in Utah's Upper Joe’s Valley, it features two sparkling ponds surrounded by pine and aspen trees, creating a picturesque and serene environment for campers.
This rustic campground includes 20 shaded sites suitable for tents, trailers, and smaller RVs, with options for single, double, group, and equestrian camping. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill, but visitors must bring their own water and pack out all trash due to the lack of onsite utilities. Vault toilets are available, and the well-maintained dirt roads ensure accessible entry for most vehicles. The campground’s proximity to two ponds provides excellent opportunities for trout fishing and canoeing, while connecting trails cater to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Notably, the Arapeen OHV Trail System, with over 350 miles of trails, lies within reach, offering thrilling adventures for all skill levels of off-road riders.
Located roughly 30 miles from the town of Huntington, the campground is an ideal base for day trips into the surrounding wilderness. Whether seeking wildlife viewing, stargazing, or an escape into nature’s quiet embrace, Potters Pond Campground seamlessly blends rustic charm with ample recreational opportunities for a rewarding camping experience.
