About Neosho Park

Where tranquil lakeside views meet rich historical significance, Neosho Park Campground provides a harmonious blend of natural beauty, modern conveniences, and cultural heritage. Located on the 3,310-acre Council Grove Lake within Kansas' renowned Flint Hills, this compact campground is ideal for anglers, history buffs, and nature enthusiasts alike.

The campground features eight reservable campsites equipped with electric hookups, flush toilets, and shaded picnic areas, ensuring comfort amidst the outdoors. A boat ramp within the park offers easy access to the lake, famous for its abundance of crappie, catfish, and saugeye—a premier fishing destination. Beyond water activities, visitors can enjoy serene hikes along the lakeshore, including the scenic Pioneer Nature Trail, which showcases native wildflowers and wildlife.

Just two miles from the historic town of Council Grove, the area is a treasure trove of Santa Fe Trail history, including seven National Historic Trail sites. Moreover, the campground’s position along the Flint Hills National Scenic Byway brings campers closer to some of the last remnants of the Tallgrass Prairie ecosystem, with the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve only 25 miles south. Whether you're planning a restful weekend or an outdoor exploration steeped in history, Neosho Park Campground offers an experience rich in both relaxation and discovery.
