Due to its high elevation, the campground lacks shade and is typically open only from mid-July to early September.

Located just 40 miles west of Laramie and a short drive from Centennial, the campground is conveniently close to numerous hiking trails and recreational opportunities. Libby and Lewis Lakes, both teeming with brook trout and splake, invite fishing and non-motorized boating enthusiasts. For adventure seekers, three popular trailheads nearby lead through wildflower meadows and rugged terrain, while the Libby Flats Observation Area, just 1.5 miles away, provides breathtaking panoramic views.
